Market to Table 2019 dates

Market to Table is a special series of appointments created by Rachel Roddy, Carla Tomasi and Alice Adams for visitors to Rome.  The idea is to start at the market, mostly Testaccio, Rachel’s local, where we fill bags and baskets with the best of the season.  We then walk back across the river to Trastevere and up to the latteria studio kitchen where Carla (or Alice) awaits – with more produce from her garden in Ostia.

You can book a place by using the link to Universe which will be active for appointments 3 months out from each of the dates.  There will be an active link to dates available to book.  There are always two of the three cooks leading the class.

A Turin inspired lunch with Emiko Davies – Thursday 30 May

Emiko Davies brings her warmth and love for heirloom recipes and regional Italian class to Rome for a day class and lunch from her latest cookbook Tortellini at Midnight.

There will be coffee and a hazelnut cake from Piedmonte to start the day, followed by rolling and kneading, mixing and pinching to make Walnut Grissini to crunch on with home made Vermouth, classic Agnellotti al plin, a tachhino tonnato and more.

An evening with Carla Tomasi and Vicky Bennison from Pasta Grannies, Friday 31 May

Friday 31 May, from 7.30 pm

Meet the face behind the incredible Pasta Grannies project – that has taken the YouTube world by storm – that documents, granny by granny, traditional pasta recipes from all over Italy.  Vicky will be talking about her many and varied journeys all over the country to record family recipes and the secrets of the nonne, while Carla keeps everyone fed with a fresh made pasta meal, local wine and other treats.

This event will help fund a new stove for the studio – thank you Carla and thank you Vicky.  Tickets are 40 euro each including booking fee, click here to book.
