Events
A look back at seasonal workshops, market tours, and collaborative food events hosted at Latteria Studio.
Moroccan Mezze with Haley the Maker
The Moroccan table – a jewel of the mediterranean. Redolent with spices and gutsy flavours, marinades and sweet notes, it is food to share and to be social with. Chef Haley the Maker hosted a Moroccan evening in April 2016.
Bottling the Season with Carla Tomasi
Nothing compares to home made preserves – be they sweet or savoury. Carla Tomasi led a workshop at Latteria Studio to teach how to preserve fruit and vegetables using recipes from near and far, and using seasonally available ingredients. The making of preserves was once an important and regular feature of every kitchen and so in this course we hoped to entice participants back into this age-old skill.
A taste of what was prepared:
- Small artichokes in oil
- Strawberry jam
- Quick pickled salted lemons
- Giardiniera of seasonal vegetables with oil and vinegar
- Dried fig and onion marmalade
- Carrot and coriander relish
Participants also enjoyed a light lunch and tasted all pickles and preserves made. You can view the details for this course: click here.
Galette Galore
Traveling chef Haley the Maker came to Latteria Studio for the month of April 2016, preparing savoury and sweet tarts with the best of the season in an all galette dinner party.
